You have to be good at choosing right colors when you do interior decoration, buy clothes or have you hair dyed and your face made up. Color psychology and color therapy are concerned with the use of colors for healing purposes. The color revolution occurred in dietology a few years ago.
Health-conscious Americans were the first to assert that the therapeutic effects of colors on human psyche should not be exclusively linked to the color of our clothes or the color of wallpapers or household items in our homes. The color of food plays an important part too.
No doubts about it, a person living in a room with red walls is more likely to see red than another person who has to look at a red curtain or tablecloth on a regular basis. The so-called color diet centers on similar principles concerning the maximum impact of the color range of foodstuffs.
The basics of the diet are rather simple: you should stick to foods of a particular color on a given weekday. No exceptions to the rule are allowed.
According to experts in color psychology, this type of diet may be a panacea for the cacophony of colors which results in the wrong food choices and prevents the body from receiving powerful beneficial chemicals contained in fruits and vegetables. A wide variety of colors does not tick off the color diet enthusiasts. As a result, they feel more relaxed while eating, and thus the food is assimilated more effectively as the body gets healthier and slimmer. The advocates of the color diet guarantee a 10-kilo weight loss in 30 days.
By the way, there is no evidence showing the effectiveness of the diet both in terms of health benefits and weight loss. However, some experts believe this type of diet is totally harmless.
The diet should look especially alluring to those who hate to impose limitations on the quantity of food they consume. However, the main advantage of the diet is its major flaw because the diet can work for those who want to slim down only in case they are ready to make an effort and watch what they eat. However, we instinctively pay attention to foods while choosing them by the color so we are unlikely to gobble up without looking at the plate.
Let us make a fresh start from the very beginning i.e. Monday:
Choice foods for Monday are as follows: potatoes, rice, bananas, onions, milk, soft cheese, curd cheese, white tea, cauliflowers, egg white, sugar and salt according to taste.
Everything looks well-balanced when it comes to carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and micronutrients.
Additional foodstuffs include pasta, white beans, celery, seafood, white fish and chicken, and sour cream, whipped cream and ice cream.
Red beans, tomatoes, red berries and lean red meat e.g. beef and veal. You can also eat pomegranates, sweet and hot red peppers. Have a glass or two of red wine and drink juices of the red color.
Tuesday is a day that is rich in protein and low on carbohydrate. Beans and meat are a source of protein while tomatoes and peppers will supply us with the minimum amount of “good carbohydrates.” Red white is rich in antioxidants which will help combat cholesterol and keep the body invigorated. Please drink in moderation.
We turn into the veggies on Wednesday. We use dark green leaves, fresh spicy herbs, spring onions, broccoli, celery stems, cucumbers, kiwis, apples, and green tea.
Wednesday menu is very good for your health though it looks somewhat light. No proteins or fats. However, a little shake-up will be good for the body after the meaty Tuesday.
Additional foods include green peas and runner beans, avocados, pistachios, green grapes, and limes.
Thursday is a bright and joyful day. Feed on carrots, pumpkins, papayas, mangoes, and wild salmon.
The array of food is not so varied yet highly beneficial. Salmon contains monounsaturated fats while carrot contains carotene.
Additional foods include oranges, apricots, dried apricots and salmon roe (no bread please).
Fill your plate with eggplants, dark grapes, blueberries, whortleberries, black currants. You can also eat prunes, plums and the herb estragon.
The vitamins are in place, eggplant has high cellulose content, and plums will give a boost to the functioning of intestines.
Additional foods include purple beetroots that are very good for digestion and blood formation. Add up some mutton and liver (for some reason these two are considered to be of the purple color which is pretty close to violet) for a hearty meal that is rich in protein.
Sunshine gets splashed over the world on Saturday. Yellow is the color of a long-awaited day-off. You can eat pineapples and peaches, yellow sweet peppers and squashes, corn, egg yolks and honey. Some hard cheese will top off the day.
The picture looks good. You will get enough cellulose from corn and squash. Cheese will provide fats. Pineapples are important for those who aim to slim down. Yellow juices are also on the list. Additional foods include lemons and black tea (brewed to medium strength).
Sunday is colorless i.e. no food is allowed. Drink plenty of mineral water.
