Two thirds of Russians (65%) do not own a car.
Only 6% of respondents claimed to own foreign cars. 28% of Russians use domestically manufactured automobiles. Such is the data collected by the research fund “Public Opinion”, reports “Interfax”.
According to the research work conducted by a group of sociologists, group of people who own foreign cars appears to be 2,5 times greater among residents of north-western and far eastern federal regions.
28% of people drive their cars themselves (50% of them are men and 8% are women). At the same time, 17% stated that they drive their cars often, whereas 11% of the respondents do so rather rarely.
When asked about driving, only 8% of the respondents (or 28% of all drivers) stated that they never violate road rules; 19% (or 66% of all drivers) confessed they do violate rules from time to time. Only 2% of the respondents (9% of all drivers) said that they almost never violate the rules.
