Writer Tom Clancy, a famous author of adventure novels, will take part in a master-class for US army servicemen, representative of the “National Cultural Contribution” organization reported at a press-conference on Tuesday.
The idea of the master-class' organizers is for professional writers including Clancy, author of “Red October” Hunting” to help the soldiers to properly compose stories of their service at “hot spots” like Afghanistan and Iraq.
The author of the idea of holding master-classes like this is the “National Cultural Contribution” organization – a public organization founded by the US Congress in 1965 in order to popularize cultural values.
The Pentagon is helping to organize two-day seminars which will take place at the bases inside the USA and abroad early in June.
According to Charles Abelle, the US Deputy Minister for Defense, soldiers returning home from military operations devoted to anti-terrorism struggle “have gained a vast experience which many of their people cannot utterly realize”.
The knowledge gained by the servicemen during the lectures of professional literati will help the soldiers to tell their families “of their bravery and courage” in a better way – Abelle said at the press-conference.
The soldiers' stories about their battle experience are going to be published as collective narrative.
