General director of Vologda power company Nikolai Rulev said that the lamppost is the copy of the one which was here one year ago, and is erected on the same place.
In 1904 Vologda State Duma examined the power station constructed in the town and allowed it to operate. Previously, the town residents used kerosene lamps. After the power station was launched, 35 lampposts were erected and 1,800 electric bulbs appeared in the apartments and offices.
