Moscow welcomes Ded Moroz

Moscow prepared a swell welcoming party for Ded Moroz's (Father Frost or Russian Santa Claus) arrival on Saturday. He has traveled to the country's capital all the way from Ustug (Vologda region). Festivities take place on Tverskaya street, at the heart of Moscow, reports Interfax.

Everyone was welcomed at the party. Children along with their parents were entertained all through the day. In addition, there was a stage performance with traditional characters of Russian folklore as Baba Yaga.

Moscow's Mayor Yuri Luzhkov was also present. He was the one to officially start the festivities.
