Murderer of Skyguide Controller May be Broken-Hearted Father

Relatives of Viktor Kaloyev, the man detained on suspicion of killing the traffic controller from Switzerland's Skyguide do not believe he could commit the crime
Relatives of Viktor Kaloyev, the man detained on suspicion of killing the traffic controller from Switzerland's Skyguide do not believe he could commit the crime. Sister of Viktor Kaloyev, 48, told RIA Novosti she could not believe her brother killed a man.

The woman confirmed that two children and the wife of her brother actually tragically died as a result of the air crash over the Boden Lake in June 2002. The family was on the way to Spain where they wanted to spend a vacation. Within five years before the tragedy, Viktor had been working in Spain; he was at head of a construction company.
According to the sister of the suspect, Viktor kept aloof from other people after the family tragically died, he spent most of his time at a cemetery where the wife and the children were buried. Once, Viktor said that his life stopped the minute he learnt about the death of the family.

Other relatives say that Viktor was depressed. Each time someone wanted to talk heart-to-heart to him the man replied that he "must learn the truth".

Even though relatives do not believe Viktor could have committed a premeditated murder, they at the same time admit that the tragedy seriously affected his mentality. They also admit that Viktor Kaloyev was waiting for a trial over the traffic controller and said the man must not escape punishment. "From time to time, Viktor himself tried to leave for Switzerland to witness the justice," relatives say.

As seen from the characteristics the relatives give to Viktor, he is a very honest man, "and if he is actually involved into the murder of the traffic controller, which is still questionable, he will confess the crime himself."

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, there is still no information about the citizenship of the man detained by the Swiss police on suspicion of the traffic controller murder.
