Elders Council Chairman Killed In Chechnya

Kadirov82-year-old Khumid Visaitov, chairman of the Elders Council in the Itum-Kala district, was killed in Chechnya, the regional operational headquarters reported.

"The elder was killed on the night of October 7 in his house in the village of Abugoroi," said a headquarters officer.

According to him, it is supposed that bandits from the Tarkhan Gaziyev group broke into Visaitov's house, shot him down from automatic weapons and placed a note on his chest with the inscription: "this will happen with every public enemy." The inscription made by them on his house reads: "public enemy". Apart from that, the bandits stole a sporting gun from the house.

In the course of the investigation it was found out that Gaziyev is directly subordinate to Doka Umarov and is financed by Arabs. The investigation possesses information that the murder of the elder was committed by order from Umarov.

Gaziyev is suspected of taking part in kidnapping presidential plenipotentiary representative in Chechnya Vlasov and of committing a terrorist act on August 6 in the district center of Shatoi when seven people were injured and ten killed.
