A Russian young man was shot dead in Honduras Friday, April 20.
According to reports from the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa, Maxim Repida, 23, was killed by two shots point-blank in a restaurant in the eastern part of the city. His killer escaped from the scene of crime.
Russia does not have a permanent diplomatic mission in Tegucigalpa. Andrei Konstantinov, the consul of the Russian embassy in neighboring Nicaragua, the area of responsibility of which embraces Honduras, told Itar-Tass by telephone Maxim Repida had come to that country on a private trip.
“The embassy is in contact with Honduran law enforcement agencies that are investigating the case,” he said.
Information available at the moment suggests that Mr. Repida arrived in Honduras April 17, Itar-Tass reports.
As it was reported Maxim Repida was in Honduras on private trip and arrived there on April 17.
As Pravda.ru previously reported it’s not the first case of murder of Russian citizens abroad.
The two young women, Tatyana Tsimfer (30) and Lyubov Svirkova (25), were shot dead in the Thai resort of Pattaya.
The bodies of Tatiana Tsimfar, 30, and Liubov Svirkova, 25, were discovered at a beach in Pattaya, a few feet from the sea. Both had been shot dead. They had apparently been waiting to watch the sunrise. Next to them was a two-thirds empty bottle of whisky, a can of Coke, cigarettes, and a pair of transparent flip-flops. The women's mobile phones lay untouched on a table - apparently ruling out the possibility their murder had been a robbery.
