Two Explosions Rip Through Moscow Metro. At least 34 Killed

Two explosions ripped through the Moscow metro in the morning of March 29. At least 32 were killed on the Lubyanka station at about 7:56 a.m. when a bomb blew up in a car of the metro train.

Another explosion took place at the Park Kultury (Park of Culture) station. At least 15 people were killed, Interfax reports.

Russia’s EMERCOM confirmed the information about the two explosions. The bomb blew up in the second car of one of the trains.

A Russian news agency later said that a third terrorist act took place at the Prospekt Mira station, but the administration of the Moscow Police did not confirm the information.

The second explosion took place at 8:39 at the Park Kultury station. At least 15 were killed, over 20 were injured.

The two explosions were performed by suicide bombers, Pravda.Ru reports. The traffic on the stations, where the blasts occurred, was halted. The Lubyanka station was closed for exit and entrance of the passengers.

The explosions in the Moscow metro became the first in six years. The previous terrorist act in the Moscow metro took place on February 6, 2004, when a bomb blew up in the train between Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya stations. Forty-one people were killed, over 250 injured.

Other explosions in the Moscow subway took place in 2004, 2001, 1998 and 1996.

A year after the constitutional referendum of December 4th, 2016 that saw the victory of the NAY and the blatant defeat of the government front that had proposed the referendum, it can be said with certainty that the trauma for the defeated is now past. But there is still fear in them, not so hidden either...
