Russia’s EMERCOM confirmed the information about the two explosions. The bomb blew up in the second car of one of the trains.

A Russian news agency later said that a third terrorist act took place at the Prospekt Mira station, but the administration of the Moscow Police did not confirm the information.

The second explosion took place at 8:39 at the Park Kultury station. At least 15 were killed, over 20 were injured.

The two explosions were performed by suicide bombers, Pravda.Ru reports. The traffic on the stations, where the blasts occurred, was halted. The Lubyanka station was closed for exit and entrance of the passengers.

The explosions in the Moscow metro became the first in six years. The previous terrorist act in the Moscow metro took place on February 6, 2004, when a bomb blew up in the train between Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya stations. Forty-one people were killed, over 250 injured.

Other explosions in the Moscow subway took place in 2004, 2001, 1998 and 1996.
