From the 6th to 8th of April 2013, the Asia Forum 2013 is taking place in Boao, a coastal resort town of 10.000 inhabitants in China's southern province Hainan. This year's theme is "Asia Seeking Development for All: Restructuring, Responsibility and Cooperation." The discussions focus on restructuring the Asian economy in an innovative and sustainable way. The forum is attended by 1.500 representatives from 43 countries.
Asian leaders of academic, business and government circles use this platform to discuss global as well as regional issues. At the opening ceremony, the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, noted that a change in the economic development of Asia will be needed to improve the people's well-being.
