The Airport of Nizhny Novgorod is expecting an extensive upgrade. A logistics center, a hotel and shopping complexes, an entertainment center, a cargo terminal, a parking area for heavy trucks, a warehouse, a hangar and an office building will appear on the territory of Strigino Airport. The transformation of the airport will cost 27 billion rubles.
A railway station to start high-speed express trains from the airport into town and back will be built within the scope of the modernization. The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev repeatedly said that such trains were very popular in the capital because they were very comfortable. A hotel of 100 rooms will be renovated (into a three-star hotel complex) for transit citizens and aircraft crews.
