The Third International Business Summit will open in Nizhny Novgorod on September 10, 2014. Traditionally, within the scope of the summit, the Department of Information Technology, Communications and Media will organize the work of the Press House.
The meeting devoted to the organization of the work of the Press House was held on July 1. The meeting, conducted at the adequate department, took place with the participation of chief editors of leading newspapers of Nizhny Novgorod, editors of regional supplements to federal publications and well-known business journals.
Conceptually, the Summit 2014 is focused on three main topics: The Year of Culture in Russia, the 330th anniversary of the Nizhny Novgorod region, and the development of modern business institutions. Three directions of the work of the summit have been approved: the plenary session, exposition part and round table discussions.
The Press House will work for two days - September 10 and 11. Leading federal publications and newspapers of the Nizhny Novgorod region will present their pavilions. In addition, managements of several leading Russian mass media outlets have confirmed their participation in the work of the Press House of the Summit in 2014.
The opening of the Press House at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair will start with the meeting of the "Club of Chief Editors" and will be attended by the head of the region, Governor Valery Shantsev.
During the second day of work, various events will be held within the scope of discussion panels, round tables and master classes with the participation of leading journalists and business representatives. In addition, at the suggestion of editors of local newspapers, a separate "Mass Media Fair" will be conducted.
As during the previous years, a studio of a federal television and radio company will be arranged in the House of Press. Pavilion №1 of the Fair will house the "Kupol" ("Dome") studio. The 2014 Summit will thus be provided with on-line and live TV broadcasts.
The work of the Press House at international business summits in Nizhny Novgorod has always been held with great success and invariably raised great interest among business and media communities.
The head of the region Valery Shantsev said when opening the work of the Press House last year that without the press coverage, the work of the summit would not be complete. "I like that there are modern information technologies used here. In our region, there are many different events happening in economic, social and political life, that may go unnoticed without the media. Therefore, it is important the media should raise these layers of information and bring them to the general public," the governor said. "Readers must have an opportunity to compare the information obtained from various publications. The Nizhny Novgorod region is open for dialogues, discussions, in order to enable people to live in peace, to work and create."
In the exhibition program of the Press House in 2013, the stands of the following national publications were presented: Kommersant, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Komsomolskaya Pravda, Arguments and Facts, Izvestia, Moskovsky Komsomolets. Next to them, one could see the stands of regional media: Business Club magazine, Marketplace newspaper, Investment Catalogue of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and many others, as well as the stand of Federal State Unitary Enterprise Russian Post.
Last year, during two days of work, the Press House conducted 15 "round tables" and master classes on interesting and extensive topics: "The role of the media in enhancing investment attractiveness of the region," "Training of journalists in contemporary Russia," "Information security for Nizhny Novgorod residents, businesses and public authorities," "Business, science, media, new forms of cooperation," "The local press: a new look at the audience," "Environmental responsibility and transparency of business" and many more.
Visitors were pleased with exhibition of photographs of newspapers Arguments and Facts, Moskovsky Komsomolets, Komsomolskaya Pravda and History of Nizhny Novgorod Media.
Organizers promise that photographs of leading journalists will be introduced to visitors' attention at the Press House this year as well.
