Nizhny Novgorod region develops cooperation with Abkhazia

On July 22, 2015, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Yevgeny Lyulin had a meeting with a delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia headed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Daurov.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of business cooperation between the republic and the Nizhny Novgorod region. The head of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Abkhazia, Gennady Gaguliya took part in the even as well.

 "Today, we have discussed options for the development of relations in tourism and agriculture. We've also talked about supplies of fruit and vegetables. In turn, we have already delivered 150 Nizhny Novgorod-made buses to Abkhazia. We have agreed to hold the next big dialogue at the Fourth International Business Summit, which will take place in the region in September," said Yevgeny Lyulin.

"The Nizhny Novgorod region is one of the leading regions of Russia, and the authority of the region, as a developed industrial center, raises no doubt. We are not guests, but friends here, and we always find understanding here. Nizhny Novgorod Governor Valery Shantsev was the first to come to us to sign an agreement on cooperation, and we have had several delegations afterwards. We always maintain a close contact," Gennady Gaguliya said.

In addition, the delegation took part in a roundtable discussion about the development of cooperation between the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Abkhazia. The meeting was conducted in the Chamber of Commerce of the Nizhny Novgorod region with the participation of representatives of both executive authorities and business circles of the region.

On September 9-11, 2015, Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region will host the 4th International Business Summit 2015. The summit is organized by the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. As Nizhny Novgorod Governor Valery Shantsev said, the key concept of this year's Business Summit will be "Russia: the future together."

Noteworthy, the volume of investment attracted in the Nizhny Novgorod region every year has increased by 4.4 times since 2005 (286.6 billion rubles in 2014).
