Shootings in Jacksonville take 6 lives

In a neighborhood near downtown Jacksonville six men were shot Tuesday in two separate shootings.

Authorities believe the two shootings, about a block apart, were connected. Two people were shot at the first location and four at the second.

The injuries of the six victims were not considered life threatening, Jacksonville Sheriff's spokeswoman Melissa Bujeda said.

No other information about the victims was released. Police would not say whether there were multiple shooters.

The shootings occurred in the Talleyrand area near Jacksonville Memorial Stadium.
