In the Chechen capital, militants have murdered an officer from the OMON, or the police special task force.
According to the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus, the murder was committed Sunday morning in Grozny's Zavodskoi district. The bodies of the policeman and a man from Yekaterinburg were found in a sauna at 22, Mira Street.
Having killed the policeman, militants took his Kalashnikov assault rifle, an IZh pistol, and cartridges. Law enforcers have launched an investigation and are busy tracking down the murderers.
