Law enforcers arrest terrorist involved in 22 June attack on Ingushetia

Another terrorist involved in the June 22 attack on the arms depot of the interior ministry of Ingushetia (Russian republic neighbouring Chechnya) has been arrested in Ingushetia, a source in the Ingush interior ministry told RIA Novosti on the telephone on Thursday.

Police detained Bakhtiyev, a local, in the city of Nazran on Wednesday. The detainee admitted part in the attack on the arms depot.

A ministry source earlier reported on the arrest of Ali Yandiyev who was also involved in the same terrorist attack.

He was arrested by the Russian Chief Interior Department for the Southern Federal District. While searching his flat officers found 55 Makarov pistols, 2 Stechkin pistols, a Margolin pistol, 6 grenade launchers, 3 machine-guns, 6 Kalashnikov assault rifles, a Tiger carbine, 5 silencers, a scope sight, and 15 Kenwood radio stations.

The weapons were stolen from the interior ministry depot, according to the interior ministry.

Around 30 persons have been detained in Ingushetia this week on suspicion of involvement in the June 22 terrorist acts that claimed the lives of 97 Russian nationals. Some of the detainees have confessed the guilt of being involved in the attacks.
