A cache with a large amount of explosives was found in the village Novaya Zhizn of the Kurchaloi district of Chechnya, a senior executive of the republic's Interior Ministry told RIA Novosti on Monday.
According to his data, the cache was discovered as a result of operative and search measures. In the outskirts of the village the policemen found two kilograms of plastid, 1.6 kg of trotyl, two electric detonators and three mines.
Apart from that, the day before another arms cache was discovered in the village of Makhkety of the Vedeno district of Chechnya, with 14 Kalashnikov submachine guns, a sporting gun and a large number of cartridges.
At present investigation is being carried out relating to the discovery of the caches. Operatives are trying to determine persons involved in illegal keeping of weapons and munitions.
