Anti-terror operations were on in seven foothill districts of Chechnya and in certain localities in the republic's north throughout last day and night, reports the regional HQ of the federal contingent. Three rebels died in action, and seven were captured. Two terror acts threatening many deaths were prevented, and sizable secret arsenals confiscated--16 rifles and pistols, an equal number of mortars, 133 artillery shells, mines and hand-grenades, and 16,000 cartridges. A search is on for small underground petroleum refineries to cut that source of rebel financing. 23 were dismantled or demolished yesterday alone.
