Several locals were killed in Chechnya over the last 24 hours.

Chechen local Lechi Saitov was shot in Novye Atagi village, disclosed the Chechen Department of Interior Affairs to a RIA Novosti correspondent. He was sitting on a bench near his house, when there came shooting from a Gazel car passing by. Saitov died instantly from the received wounds. The assassins disappeared. The motives of the murder are unknown.

Citizen of the Vedeno village Khalit Borshigov was killed in the Vedeno district. His body, bearing gun-wounds in the head and the chest was found on the outskirts of the Dyshne-Vedeno village.

Chechen local Aslanbek Vanayev was killed in the Novy Tsentoroi village. His body with stab and cut wounds in the neck, chest and stomach was found in a forest nearby a railroad. A criminal case was initiated and investigation is underway.

According to the information of the law-enforcement bodies, a number of criminal offences and murders grew up rapidly within the recent period of time.

Republic Prosecutor Nikolai Kostyuchenko, speaking at a meeting in the Government House, said that there are 360 criminal cases being looked into that were initiated upon the facts of murders for the last six months.
