Three servicemen killed in gunmen's attack on check-point

Three servicemen were killed in a terrorist attack on a federal check-point in the Urus-Martan district of Chechnya.

The incident happened last night in the outskirts of the village of Martan-Chu, the Urus-Martan district's administration reported.

The gunmen, equipped with small arms and grenade-launchers opened fire onto the position of the servicemen of the headquarters defence company. To help them out head of the village administration Elbek Movlayev arrived at the check-point with a local defence detachment.

During the battle he was badly wounded and sent to hospital, in addition three soldiers of the headquarters defence detachment were killed.

The case is under investigation.
