In Chechnya, one serviceman was killed and four wounded in a landmine explosion, reported the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

The blast, which occurred by the village of Dyshne-Vedeno, Chechnya's Vedeno district, yesterday, wrecked an infantry fighting vehicle, wounding three soldiers of the interior troops. One of them died en route to hospital.

Forty minutes on, another landmine exploded on the same site, wounding two soldiers and a commander of a field engineering platoon, who were examining the site of the explosion. Law enforcers have initiated a search for those responsible for the terrorist act.
