Two militants killed in operation in Chechnya

Two Chechen militants were killed in a special operation in the Urus-Martan district of Chechnya, RIA Novosti learned from a representative of the Joint Troops in the North Caucasus.

On Wednesday the military discovered a gang of several people, he said. A shoot-out followed, during which two bandits were killed, but the others managed to escape, the spokesman said.

"There were no casualties among the federal troops," he pointed out.

At present the other militants are being searched for and the investigation is underway.
