Russian Border-Guards Prevent Violation Of Tajik-Afghan Border

Russian border-guards prevented an attempt of crossing the Tajik-Afghan border on Sunday night. No Russian border-guards were injured in the skirmish, said Monday the press-service of Russian border-guards in Tajikistan. A border-guard squad found six armed border-violators crossing the border in a mountainous strip of the Moskovsky border control unit. The border-guards were fired at from Afghan territory as well as by the border-violators. As a result of retaliatory fire, shooting from Afghan territory was ceased, and the border-violators retreated to Afghanistan, employing night-time and terrain.
