Terrorist Act Thwarted In Grozny

The federals have thwarted a large terrorist act in Grozny's Oktyabrsky district, the Joint Group of Forces reported on Wednesday. The militants had planned to blow up the bridge across the Sundzha river, but the police managed to thwart the terrorist act. According to reports, while checking the railway near the bridge, policemen have recently discovered and defused a home-made explosive device made of 5.6 kg of TNT and a detonator. The explosive was planted 50 metres away from the trestlework, the Joint Group of Forces said.
