Iraq Has Surprise in Store for US

There will be a surprise in store for American soldiers in the Persian Gulf if the US begins a large-scale military operation in Iraq. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports this was announced by Deputy Iraqi Minister of the Interior Mahmud Diab al-Ahmad on Wednesday March 5.

He said that a 'self-defense battalion' has been formed in Iraq, which consists of about 15 thousand people. Every member of the battalion is ready to become a shahid (martyr) and take the invaders' lives with them, he emphasised.

According to certain sources, subdivisions of the Iraqi defense ministry have already been given orders to start mining the regions near the Kuwaiti border. The US marines are expected to start their ground attack on Iraq from Kuwait.
