Two rebels have exploded when planting a land mine in the Zavodskoi district of Grozny. According to the regional staff of the anti-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus, the day before, a federal patrol located two unidentified persons planting a land mine, 200 metres away from a provisional police station.
Terrorists tried to escape. Police officers opened shoot-to-kill fire. As a result, several bullets hit the explosive device, which subsequently went off. Both rebels were killed. On the scene, policemen found fragments of a 122-mm shell, debris of an electric detonator and cable.
The terrorists are currently being identified.
