Two soldiers were killed and three wounded when militants attacked a logistic support convoy of the Russian defence ministry in Chechnya's Vedeno district, reported the headquarters of Russia's Federal United Forces in the North Caucasus.
The convoy was moving past the village of Agishty when the leading armoured car drove over a radio-controlled landmine. Immediately after the explosion, the convoy was attacked by militants armed with assault rifles, grenade launchers and sniper rifles.
Two servicemen were killed and three wounded in the course of the attack.
