Palestine Leadership Condemns Attack On Israeli Soldiers Near Rafah In Gaza Strip

On Wednesday the Palestinian leadership condemned an attack on an Israeli position near the Rafah town in the Gaza strip, report the RIA Novosti correspondents. Such operations provide a pretext for the Israeli side for continuing the military aggression, blockade and collective punishment of the people of Palestine, says an official statement of the Palestinian National Authority. The statement was circulated by the Palestinian news agency WAFA. The Israeli side confirms that an army position in Karam-Shalom near Rafah was attacked on Wednesday morning, says the statement. As a result of the attack, four Israeli soldiers were killed. The Palestinian leadership "resolutely condemns this dangerous challenge to the Palestinian national solution and the position aimed at ceasefire and settlement", statement reads. Security measures are taken against such incidents, which run counter to the national interests of the people of Palestine, is said in the statement. The leadership of the Palestinian National Authority has taken a decision to continue investigation of this action and find those responsible for it.
