An act of terror has been thwarted in the village of Starye Atagi in Chechnya's Groznensky district, an official of the provisional press centre of the Chechen Interior Ministry told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.
"The militants wanted to blow up the House of Culture. For this purpose they had planted a land mine made of two mortar bombs and a pressure contact-maker into the building," the Interior Ministry official added.
The land mine was spotted timely and taken out of the village to be exploded. Now the people involved in the act of terror are being searched for.
