Some Orthodox Jews protesting against Zionism and carrying Palestinian flags were arrested. Many Jews regard the Zionists as being a threat to security.
As the Israeli Defence Force states that it needs one more week to destroy the tunnels used by HAMAS, a playground was strafed, killing several children. Both sides blame one another. The Israeli offensive Protective Edge was launched on July 7 and is the third major offensive against Gaza since 2005 when Israel ceased occupation of the territory but has since maintained a blockade.
