One killed, at least three wounded by gunman in Swiss hotel

One man killed and at list three are wounded by a gunman who opened fire with assault rifle in a Swiss hotel, police said Friday.

The man was subdued by police after the shooting Thursday evening in the northern city of Baden.

The man started shooting at random as he approached the La Capella hotel. and continued firing after entering the building.

Police said they were called around 9:45 p.m. (1945 GMT).

One man was killed and at least three others were injured, said Rudolf Woodtli, a spokesman for the Aarau cantonal (state) police. He said police were investigating whether a fourth person might also have been hit and went to a hospital independently.

Police declined to disclose any information on the gunman's identity. The motive was unknown.
