Nine gunmen detained in Ingushetia

Nine gunmen have been detained in Nazran, the capital of Ingushetia (a constituent member of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus).

Press-service of the Russian Interior Ministry Administration for the Southern Federal District told RIA Novosti Friday that the participants in illegal armed formations had been detained in an area of residence of forced migrants from Chechnya.

The detained persons are from 20 to 30 years old, they come from Chechnya, Ingushetia and the Rostov Region, the press service officials elaborated.

Weapons and ammunition were confiscated from them during the detention.

The detainees were sent to a pre-trial detention centre. The Federal Security Service is investigating their possible involvement in terrorist activities.
