Two Militants Killed And Six More Detained In Chechnya

As a result of a special operation in the Achkhoi-Martan district of Chechnya, two militants were killed and six more detained, the staff of the Joint Group of Federal Troops in the Chechen Republic reported. The special operation was carried out the day before by militiamen and servicemen of the Interior Ministry troops at Zakan-Yurt settlement of the Achkhoi-Martan district. During a combat encounter two militiamen were wounded. Both of them were hospitalised. An assault rifle with a silencer, a pistol, a hand grenade and over 100 cartridges of different calibres were found on the scene. An investigation with regard to the detained militants is under way.
