Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian militant early Thursday in an arrest raid in the West Bank town of Qalqiliya, the army and Palestinian security officials said.
Israel regularly carries out overnight arrests raids against militants in the West Bank. The army said it identified an armed man nearing the troops and opened fire at him.
Palestinian security officials said the man was a member of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a violent offshoot of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement.
"We should use shock therapy to sober up the Americans. In this case, the Americans will speak about the need to resume dialogue. There is no other option"
The United States is concerned about the current crisis in the relations with Russia and suggests returning to reasonable policies to avoid a nuclear war
