The bandit group which committed an attack on the militia office in the village of Aslanbek-Sheripovo in the Shatoi district of Chechnya has been fixed, the RIA Novosti correspondent was told in the prosecutor's office of Chechnya.
"The investigators have succeeded in coming upon the tracks of the gang which had attacked the militia office and in establishing its whereabouts," reported a spokesman for the prosecutor's office.
According to him, 22 men, earlier detained on suspicion of being concerned in taking part in illegal armed units, are already giving evidence in connection with this case.
The day before, the bandit group, consisting of 20 men, attacked a village militia office and stole two sub-machine guns and two cars. Then the bandits set the building on fire and disappeared. Later the Ural and UAZ cars were found burned. There are no victims among the militia personnel.
