Russia denies any implication in Indian submarine disaster

Russian Shipyard Zvyozdochka, which recently conducted the modernization of India's Sindurakshak diesel-electric submarine of the Russian production, said that the Indian side had no complaints about the quality of repairs.

According to representatives of the company, the submarine was equipped with new missile complex Club, systems of navigation and communications, refrigeration unit and batteries. The power system of the submarine was repaired as well.

The sub was put into operation in January 2013, no defects were found.

The diesel-powered Indian submarine exploded and sank early Wednesday in a dock in Mumbai, leaving rescuers scrambling to find 18 sailors who were on board.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
