Man sentenced to 125 years pleads guilty to another attack

An ex-convict who was sentenced in June to 125 years to life for trying to rape a Danish model in Central Park pleaded guilty Monday to trying to rape another woman in an apartment house vestibule four days later.

Tito Rodriguez pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, robbery and attempted rape in exchange for a sentence of 20 years to life. He will be sentenced Dec. 6 by state Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon.

Prosecutors said Rodriguez, 33, tailed the victim into her Manhattan apartment building in the early morning hours on May 16, 2004. Inside, they said, he threatened her with a knife, ripped off her shirt and groped her. Police arrested Rodriguez less than an hour later.

Several days later, prosecutors say, police connected Rodriguez by DNA to the earlier attempted rape in Central Park. The DNA connection was made by his blood, left on the would-be victim's dress after she scratched and fought furiously to drive him off while her dog bit his leg, AP reports.
