In Chechnya, two terrorists were killed in an explosion while planting a landmine in the republic's Gudermes district, reported the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus. The incident occurred on Sunday morning. The police spotted two suspicious-looking men, who were doing something on the side of a highway. Seeing the police, they initiated an armed clash, but were almost instantly killed by a landmine explosion nearby. Apparently, the explosion was caused by a homemade explosive device that the two men had been planting on the side of the road. Police have launched an investigation and are trying to identify the terrorists.
