Details Of Shooting At TV Building In Grozny

Shots were fired at the republican TV building on Wednesday night. According to Beslan Khaladov, head of the Chechnya's State TV and Radio, unknown persons fired a grenade-launcher twice at the building. The first shell damaged the building's cornice, and the other hit the neighbouring apartment house. According to Khaladov, there was no serious damage or casualties. The culprits also fired automatic weapons at the TV and Radio house. The building's security returned fire. The culprits managed to flee. Law-enforcers are investigating the incident. Khaladov thinks that the attackers aimed at the transmitting aerial on the roof, but failed to hit the target. Chechen TV will continue functioning, he stressed.
