3 frontier guards killed, 10 injured in combat with Chechen militants

As a result of combat between Russian frontier guards and Chechen gunmen in Dagestan in the south of Russia, three servicemen were killed and 10 were injured, sources in the Main Department of the Russian Interior Ministry of the South Federal District told RBC. Casualties among the gunmen are being assessed.

According to a source in the Dagestani Interior Ministry, a group of about 25 rebels seized one of the Dagestani mountainous settlements in the Tsuntinsky district last night. According to preliminary information, three people have been taken hostage by the militants. Units of the interior and defense ministries are on high alert.
