Powerful Explosion In Grozny

A high-yield explosion resounded in the administrative centre of Chechnya, Grozny, on Tuesday night. The explosive device was planted on a road side in the Zavodskoi district of the city. It went off at the moment when a Ural automobile with servicemen was passing this place. But due to its high speed the automobile safely passed the dangerous section of the road. A local inhabitant who was crossing the road at that moment received vast fragmentation wounds and died on the spot. A criminal case on the fact of a terrorist act was opened, and an investigation began. Individuals involved in the terrorist act have not been detained so far. Two fire attacks by militants on federal outposts in Achkhoi-Martan and in the Leninsky district of Grozny have also been registered on the territory of Chechnya over the past 24 hours. Return fire was opened in both cases. None of the servicemen was hurt.
