A man was caught planting a mine at Grozny's police block-post on November 15. On him were a mine consisting of two 82-calibre mortar shells, TNT sticks weighting 200 grams and electrical detonators. The detainee is being identified to verify his involvement in other sabotage and terrorist activities. Military engineers discovered yesterday an anti-aircraft gun hidden deep underground in a kitchen garden of the Tsa-Vedeno village. There was also a mortar in the household. Investigation is underway. The total of 22 police operations in Chechnya yesterday laid bare five caches with arms and ammunition: 24 grenade-launchers, 14 fire-arms, 32 artillery shells, 24 mines of different calibre, 232 large grenades, grenade-launcher rounds and about 28 cartridges for automatic guns.
