Six separatists were eliminated in Chechnya yesterday, the regional operative staff for the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus reported.
"A reconnaissance unit of the federal forces came across a group of 20 militants near the Gansolchu village in the Nozhai-Yurt district," the staff said.
Six bandits were killed and others escaped to the forest, RIA Novosti's interlocutor noted.
According to him, a machine-gun, four Kalashnikov assault-rifles, a pistol, five grenades, 640 cartridges, over 94 kg of food, 25 sets of camouflage uniform of the Russian armed forces, 32 masks, 19 sleeping-bags, five tents and two bags with medicines were seized from the site of the battle.
The dead militants are being identified. Search for the escapees is underway.
Moreover, one militant was eliminated by the federal forces near the Kiri village in the Sharoi district on Friday. 200 grams of plastic explosives and nine Kalashnikov magazines were seized from him, RIA Novosti's interlocutor said.
