Five Men Detained In Chechnya Suspected Of Involvement In Illegal Armed Formations

On Tuesday the law-enforcement bodies detained five men in Chechnya who are suspected of involvement in illegal armed formations. RIA Novosti learned from the press centre of the Russian Interior Ministry in the Northern Caucasus that among the detained is a participant in the September 17 attack on the Chechen town of Gudermes by a gang of gunmen. It was established during preliminary investigation that he took part in firing from an automatic gun and a grenade-thrower at the Russian police unit stationed there.-0 (tol/kaf)
