19 June declared day of mourning for dead miners

The governor of the Kemerovo region (Siberia) has ordered that June 19 be declared a day of mourning for 11 miners, who were killed in an accident at the Ziminka mine in Prokopyevsk on June 16.

Governor Aman Tuleyev will attend the funerals on June 19.

The regional administration's press service has announced that a decision has been taken to provide the families of the victims with material assistance.

On Tuesday, President Vladimir Putin instructed Deputy Prime Minister Galina Karelova to take matter of providing the families with assistance under her personal control.
