The body of a Ukrainian mountain climber found

On the slope of the Dykhtau mountain (5,208 metres) in the Kabardino-Balkarian republic of the Russian Federation, rescuers have found the body of one of the three Ukrainian mountain climbers who went missing on August 9, the local emergencies ministry reported on Monday.

The members of the Odessa Mountain Climbers' Club - Sergei Lebedenko, Alexei Ushchakovsky and Konstantin Leontiev - were climbing the Dykhtau mountain during the Ukrainian Mountaineering Championship in the Bezengi Gorge and found themselves in the so-called "wet" snow avalanche.

The searches for them did not bring any results until Saturday when the rescuers found the body of Leontyev on the northern slope of the mountain.

At the present time, the Kabardino-Balkarian rescue group and mountain climbers, who are taking part in the Ukrainian Championship, are continuing the searches.
