Chechen Terrorists To Stand Trial Again In Stavropol

Four members of Shamil Basayev's gang, which attacked the town of Budyonnovsk in June 1995, will stand trial in the Stavropol territorial court after a 10-day interval. As a result of the terrorist raid on Budyonnovsk, 143 people were killed, 415 wounded, contused or maimed. At present, only four members of Basayev's gang will stand trial, namely: Raisa Dundayeva, Vakhit Idamirov, Salambek Daudov and Aslan Yakubov. They are the first bandits to be tried. These militants will be followed by several more groups of terrorists whose cases are in the final stage of investigation. The resumed trial will hear the testimony of victims and witnesses - approximately 2,000 people.
