Clash between army task force and group of separatists happened in Chechnya

A clash between an army task force and a group of separatists took place in Chechnya, the headquarters of the United Group of Troops in the North Caucasus informed RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

According to the source, the day before the task force discovered a group of separatists in Chechnya's Shalinsky district. "The bandits were preparing an ambush on the road, five kilometres off the Avtura village," the headquarters pointed out.

When they saw the task force members, they commenced fire from automatics. During the clash one separatist was killed and the rest of the bandits escaped, the source stated. Bandits hiding in the forest are currently being looked for, the headquarters pointed out.

"Two explosives intended for undermining military equipment were found at the battle site," the headquarter representative said.
