Mohammed Hamza al-Zubeidi, commander of one of Iraq's military districts, was arrested by the troops of free Iraq in Hila, a town 90 kilometers south of Baghdad, announced a spokesman for the Iraqi National Conference party.
Al-Zubeidi is number 18 on the list of wanted Iraqi officials.
Although a Shiite himself, al-Zubeidi played a key part in the suppression of the Shiite uprising in March 1991. After that, he was the country's prime minister until the post went to Saddam Hussein in 1992.
He was a member of the Revolutionary Command Council and the commander of the Central Euphrates military district, but has not been in power for two years.
The co-author of this disaster is the Dutch government, which did not find either strength or desire to save the lives of its citizens who were flying on that plane. The Dutch authorities did not demand Ukraine to comply with international aviation regulations
