US authorities pursue their own goals in the crisis in Ukraine, so they do not notice any violations committed by the new Ukrainian authorities, said former Assistant to the US Treasury Secretary in the Reagan administration, head of the Institute of Political Economy, Paul Craig Roberts.
According to him, the Ukrainian government is a "puppet" government. "As you know, Washington uses the atrocities that Kiev commits against Russians in Ukraine, to push Putin for action, to make Russia send troops to protect the Russian nationals and the territories and that leaders of the Communist Party stupidly gave away to Ukraine in the past" RIA Novosti quoted Roberts as saying.
"The goal of the United States is to force Russia to confirm allegations of the American propaganda about invasion and annexation, then force Europe to break economic relations with Russia, especially in such an important area as energy," the expert said.
The United States is not going to recognize any violations and crimes committed by the Kiev authorities, as all these actions are carried out on the initiative of Washington and in the interests of the US administration. Official representatives of the State Department approve of all actions of the new Ukrainian authorities and praised them for their restraint.
The reason for the State Department to play the game of silence, when representatives of the Russian mass media or Foreign Ministry ask US officials of crimes against Russian journalists or Russian-speaking residents in Ukraine, is that the crimes are committed by the puppet government in Kiev on orders from Washington. For Washington, it is Russia that is guilty of all troubles of Ukraine, and the U.S. is not willing to acknowledge any violation of Kiev, Paul Craig Roberts believes.
